Facials - How often should you get them?


Facials are one of the most neglected treatments out there, often seen as unnecessary and a luxury, when in reality they should be a part of everyone’s healthy skincare routine. Think of it as a monthly investment that will save you a looooot of money in the long run in anti-aging creams and other over-the-counter treatments that don’t work. So how often should you get a facial?

It depends on a variety of factors such as your age, skin type, the environment and if you have any specific skin problems. Assuming you have healthy skin, experts recommend having a facial every 4 weeks, aka once a month, for best results. Facials do tend to get a bit pricey so if you are on a budget and are not ready to make that monthly investment, you can get a facial every three months to detox and prep it for the changing season. If you are treating a certain skin condition such as acne, you may need to come in more frequently for a series of targeted facials. You should always consult your skin specialist on this because everyone is different and your treatment schedule should be tailored specifically to you.

If you are 18 to 30 years old and maintain a good daily cleansing routine, then you only need a facial every 2-3 months. For those after the age of 30, investing in a monthly facial is a really really good idea. Inbetween treatment at-home upkeep is key at any age to maintain the benefits of facials and keep your skin healthy all year long.

So, consider your age, skin type and your budget and make facials a regular part of your beauty regime so you look glowy and dewy both every day and on any special occasion.
